As part of Town Deal Ipswich has been privileged to receive a new group will be chaired by Chris Pont, Chief Executive and Co-founder of IJYI and local MP Tom Hunt.

The Digital Taskforce will bring together leading experts in digital technology from Ipswich and the surrounding area. Working collaboratively, they will assess the current digital performance and potential of the town centre, as well as identifying the best international examples and emerging trends. The result will be an ambitious plan to invest over £2million in Ipswich’s digital infrastructure, allocated from the government’s recently awarded Town Deal funding for the town. Sam joins Bafta award winning Creative Computing Club’s school Head Matthew C Applegate as well Ipswich Central’s and All About Ipswich’s COO Sophie Alexander, who also collaborates with the Digital Advice Service on the recent Ipswich Town Service.

Sam Parnell said - ‘I’m proud to be part of a board of technical and non-technical folk who are all focused on the progression of Ipswich and East Suffolk. It’s refreshing to hear a collaborative approach when it comes to using technology to solve everyday problems within a town. Sam knows that well great education is key to digital delivery and ongoing use. Sam works with businesses through the Digital Advice Service, and is able to pull in the work Ipswich's Digital Taskforce and All About Ipswich are doing to ensure Ipswich becomes a shining star of Suffolk’s visitor economy and local business community.’
